Interview conducted and edited by Delaney McCarthy (Class of 2027) and Ava Mauntler (Class of 2027)
As a senior captain, Ryan Hrachovina has made a lasting impact on the football team both on and off the field. He is looking forward to taking on an even bigger leadership role this season. With his final season underway, read below to learn more about Ryan, his football career, and the memories that have made his time on the field so special.
What made you start playing football?
It looked fun, and I looked up to the older kids.
What is one thing you wish you could tell your freshman-year self?
Don’t lead with your head. You’re actually going to need it.
If you could play one more game with any former teammate, who would it be?
I would play with Luke Bradford again.
What is your pre-game meal?
Whatever I can find at the EZ Market.
What is your favorite football memory?
Our mud practice sophomore year.
Are you proud of how you’ve done over the years?
Yes, I am very proud of how we’ve done.
What will you miss the most about playing football after graduation?
I’ll definitely miss beating up on the scout team in practice.
What gets you ready for a game?
An energy drink and girly music.
What’s your best piece of advice a coach has given you?
Don’t think about the one bad play. Move forward, and if you make a mistake, do something better the next play.
If you could play any position, what would you play?
I’ll stick with my defensive end. I love that spot.
Thank you for a personality-filled interview, Ryan Hrachovina! Stay tuned for more OCS Yearbook’s interviews later this semester.
