The #10 Onekama varsity volleyball team holds a 21-6-1 record following a 17-match undefeated streak, headlined by a ranked win at #4 Traverse City Christian in which the girls swept the Sabers 26-24, 25-18, and 25-20. The team's hot stretch has earned them a top-10 ranking in the state.

This past weekend, the Portagers continued their hot streak at the Farwell Tourney, winning the tournament and going 4-0-1 in their matches on the day against Ashley, Evart, and Midland Bullock Creek.

Prior to the tourney, Onekama defeated local rivals Buckley, Frankfort, and Suttons Bay on the road; Leland and Brethren at home; and Mason County Eastern (twice), Lake Leelenau St Mary (twice), Hale, and Grand Traverse Academy to win September 12's Onekama Invitational.

The team's play continues to be headlined by its senior leaders - Delaney McCarthy leads the team in kills, Elizabeth McKeough in assists, and libero Ava Mauntler in digs - while receiving increasingly consistent contributions from its junior and sophomore members.

As of today, Onekama is tied for first place in the Northwest Conference. Their remaining regular season matches will come against Benzie Central (Thursday's senior night match beginning at 7 PM), at Shelby (a tri-match Monday, 10/19 at 5 PM), at Buckley (Thursday, 10/22 at 5 PM), at Beal City (tournament on Saturday, 10/24 at 9 AM), and at Mason County Central (a quad match Monday, 10/26 at 5 PM). Afterward, the postseason awaits!
