Over the past six months, our facilities here at Onekama Consolidated Schools have seen various updates supported by the community bond passed last November. There are already new safety features...

...and new playground equipment!

In addition there are plans for new football, softball, baseball, cross country and pickleball facilities finalized by 2027.

We asked principal Dave Huntington his thoughts on the new classroom furniture and playground shown above. He said, “The new furniture and playground make such a difference—you can see students and teachers enjoying their spaces more, and that energy carries right into learning.  These upgrades, along with the new safety features, really help create an environment where students feel important, comfortable, and safe.  All of this allows them to focus on being their best selves, and elevating their game to meet [our] high expectations!"

When we asked superintendent Dan Mesyar for his thoughts, Mr. Mesyar expressed his gratitude for the school community passing the bond. “I am very thankful to our community for their overwhelming support of our school district. These upgrades will have a lasting impact for the next generation of learners here at Onekama Consolidated Schools!”

Thank you for your support, Onekama community! We notice the difference every day.
