Fall Sports Roundup: Portagers Impress in Volleyball; Sinke Sets School Record in Strong Cross Country Start
By Jolie Tabaczka (Class of 2026) and Jayla Fink (Class of 2025)
On October 10, Onekama volleyball secured its first conference title since 1983 when the team defeated Benzie in three consecutive sets.
While the conference title is just the first of many goals that this team holds as they approach the postseason, Onekama's journalism program wants to wish our athletes a massive congratulations; some of our athlete's parents were barely alive when the Portagers last took home the conference 41 years ago!
This recap will break down Onekama's last two weeks of volleyball and cross-country action.

The Onekama girl's varsity volleyball team has gone undefeated in the Northwest Conference this season. They play relentlessly, and have put up a fight against exceptionally challenging teams. When asked about the season to date, senior athlete and Journalism student Leah Gary stated, "We have an amazing team this season and we flow extremely well together. I'm excited to see how far we go especially with this being my last year."
